Sponsorship Opportunities
I
have been pretty lucky that several people have helped a out financially from a personal point and
also from a company point of view. Where possible I have thanked those that have helped (individual names on Thank You page and companies are on Links page) but as with anything more money is a necessary evil of motor racing. The way I have looked at Sponsorship it is that there are two ways for people to sponsor
me.
There
is the traditional approach of contacting a company (through some kind of hook) and offering them "space" on the car for a
logo and or company details in exchange for cash or discounted products (e.g. Corbeau, the Droop Snoot Group, Fox Sports, Bushey Heath Garage, NGK Spark Plugs). This is something I have not done too much of as I wanted to get the car finished and some results
under my belt. Saying that, if there is anyone out there reading this who thinks they might know someone interested
in this approach then please send them my way!!
The
second approach is an idea that I had and it is a little bit different but is ideal to start with. It
is much more personal, a little easier to arrange and helps me out. I call it the Chequered Flag approach and I
don't think it has been done before (Editor's note - Yes it's similar to Honda's 2007
livery but mine is much better!!).
The
idea I have is based on the boot of the car (see picture below) and I am offering people the opportunity to
"sign" the boot for £125. This entails a signature/autograph to be sent to me (it doesn’t have to be an autograph
or signature, it can be any type of font requested). I then make up a vinyl graphic, apply
it to the car and the "signee" is entitled to two tickets to any race that I am doing this season and a warm glow knowing
that they have helped me out!! I am aiming to get 36 signatures in total (18
black and 18 white) and it will go some way in helping out financially and should look very good.
I do have several signatures and have applied the
graphic (in a chequered flag style with signatures on) to the boot. Hopefully over time more people will
become interested and "sign" up and I will amend the flag and update the pictures below as and when I get more signees.
If you are interested in doing this or in any form of
sponsorship or help or would like to know more then please contact me.
